Mike Sivo as "The Jungle Cat" Mike Sivo's unrivaled energy and dedication to his craft have quickly made him a favorite in KISS fan circles. In the late 1980's, Lydia Criss herself expressed to Mike just how much he looked and sounded like Kiss' legendary Catman. "People will tell me they freak out because I look so much like Peter," Mike says. "That's a huge compliment." Mike grew up as a big Ace Frehley fan, but while studying KISS videos to practice for his tribute work, he developed a greater appreciation for Peter Criss' vintage style. "in the earliest years of KISS, Peter was really great," Sivo says. "He has this unique jazz/rock style that I really liked." Mike lists Grand Funk Railroad, Humble Pie and Led Zeppelin as other great musical influences. He began playing drums in elementary school while growing up in New York, and has been a KISS fan since the release of their first album. He is also fond of Eric Carr's drumming. "He was an amazing, awesome drummer" he says. |
